Back in the mid to late 1990’s if you wanted to win the British Junior Rally Championship you had to go and see Dick Archer.
As Wizard Motorsport he was notorious for building the quickest and most competitive Rally Cars, even going as far as to register as a Manufacturer with the DVLA to take full advantage of Homologation requirements. This car’s V5 actually states ‘Wizard’ where you would expect to see Vauxhall !

Cumbrian ace Stuart Egglestone narrowly missed out on the title in 1997 in a Sister car (P20 WMS), in 1998 he commissioned the a new build of this LHD car (R20 WMS) winning the Championship and going on to a seat with the Ford Works team for 1999.

Daniel Harper became the next owner and finished the 1999 Tour of Mull in 5th overall, going one better in 2000 to finish an outstanding 4th.

The car has been upgraded to a more Clubman Group A specification over the years but still retains most of it’s original parts.

Original Wizard shell with R20 WMS registration number.
2.0 XE on Throttle Bodies.
DTA management.
Brand new HHMS Dog Gear Kit with turret, linkage and gear lever (30 miles).
Brand new HHMS pedal box (30 miles).
3-way Proflex, (just had £1000 rebuild, 30 miles).
New Mintex pads all round (30 miles).
Uprated driveshafts.
Alcons.
AP Bias Valve.
Flocked dash.
Motordrive seats and Cobra belts (in date).

Spares package including 10 x Compomotives, shafts, panels etc etc.

The car is ready to Rally with a current MSA log book and in-date seats, belts and extinguishers.
The car is also eligible for Historic Demonstration Events and was invited to Race Retro in 2017 by Rallying with Group B, where it was displayed and demonstrated on the Live Rally Stage.

With all the works Astras disappearing this is a unique opportunity to buy an original car built by a works-level Team with fascinating history and real provenance.

**I AM OPEN TO OFFERS AND/OR PART EXCHANGE (CARS/VANS/RALLYCARS/CLASSICS ETC ETC)**
