Full & Detailed Specification:
Engine and ECU:
2.0 Vauxhall 16v Engine
All parts sourced from SBD Motorsport
Circa 280-285BHP/190LbFt torque.
600 stage miles since full rebuild
Prior rebuild after 1,500 stage miles – but everything was immaculate inside (bearings and bores were excellent still and didn’t actually need touching)
Coil on plug kit
Jenvey throttle bodies – upgraded to latest spec in 2012 (prior set were from 1995 and were still going strong but decided to upgrade)
Steel rods, Slipper Pistons (both from SBD)
Single fully integrated MBE 9a9 ECU controlling Engine, Paddle Shift and Traction Control
e-Gas Throttle System – again fully integrated in the single ECU
This single ECU controlling everything provides a seamless experience between Engine, Gearbox, Traction and Throttle – very impressive setup to drive.
Pace Dry Sump Kit
Pneumatic Paddle Shift System with Compressor, Air Tank, Control Valves and Gearbox Actuator
Traction Control – including G and Yaw rate sensor
Stainless steel Edwards Manifold and full exhaust system
Engine oil change completed after every 3 events, 180 miles or 6 months whichever is the soonest
Engine never over revved and ECU controls the downshift so no over revving on the downshift – contributing to the reliability and durability of the engine.
Gearbox and Transmission:
Hewland JFR Gearbox – fit and forget
6 Speed Sequential
This gearbox was fitted in 2007 and had its first rebuild and inspection in January 2018 – 10 years untouched. No remedial work was required and the professional rebuilder commented it looked like new still.
The paddleshift arrangement is so seamless and consistent that gearbox wear is absolutely minimal – per comment above.
If I kept the car, my expectation would be that this should do the same again.
Brand new AP racing clutch plates
Clutch slave cylinder just rebuilt with new seals
Proflex Suspension all round – fully and freshly rebuilt to 2018 specification by Proflex, dyno’d by Tim Duffee with new springs for Irish setup (single venue springs will come with the car too).
AP brakes all round
300mm discs on front – amazing stopping power
Full new loom throughout in 2016 - CAD designed and professionally fitted
Plex SDM-200 Electronic Dashboard – new in 2016
Lifeline Zero360 plumber in extinguisher – new in 2016 (requires 2 year service)
