KWT556V is probably the finest and most iconic Group 4 Escort available today. FOR SALE - KWT 556V - Offers in excess of £145k.

Fully re-manufactured by RAMSPORT during the summer of 2015 this car has all new components and covered only 20 test miles. New BDG by none other than Graham Hickman.

KWT556V started life at PCA Motorsport for Henri Toivonen/Phil Boland to use on the 1979 RAC Rally and used with great success in 1980 by Peter Clarke.

It is has been remanufactured by Rob Atkinson and his team of technicians at Ramsport in North Wales during the summer of 2015. The car has all new components; along with a new BDG engine rated at 248 bhp built by Graham Hickman, a former engineer at Brian Hart / Judd during the 70's.

This iconic rally car 'KWT' has been presented in its former 1979 RAC livery as sponsored by PCA/Team Total Oil and driven by the late, great Henri Toivonen and Philip Boland on that event.

The car is FIA compliant to 2015 Historic Motorsport regulations along with matching numbers. A certificate of authenticity will be available signed by Peter Clarke the car's owner from 1979 and Philip Boland; the original co-driver, plus the build team.

It cannot be emphasised enough KWT 556V is the last ever Ford that Henri Toivonen competed in, before becoming a full time professional driver with drives at Talbot, Porche, Opel and Lancia.

The car's first public appearance (Castle Combe) was on 19th September 2015 with many an observer describing the car as 'stunning'. It will make a perfect addition to any collection of historic motor cars or indeed an instant Historic Rally winner in the right hands!

The car will be available to purchase by at the end of February 2016 (unless sold previously).

The car is scheduled to be shown next at the Rally Wales GB, Autosport 2016 & Race Retro 2016.

The engine as supplied has a spectacularly good torque curve and will be spectacular to drive!

The cylinder head has been assembled so that it is possible to change the camshafts to BL17/DA19 or similar full race units which will give an increase of 12 -15 bhp.

However it will be nowhere near as driveable and unless driven by a very experienced individual will inevitably be slower!
