This is an ex-Radical factory car that was driven very successfully by Greg Hart, Roger Bromiley and others. Being ex-works it has all factory options, including: 2010-onwards spec 2.7RPX 430hp engine, Quaife 6 speed gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift, biggest 300mm floating brakes all round, full data logging (video, suspension, steering, brakes, clutch), AIM dash, air jacks, FIA-certified ATL 77L bag tank, Kenlowe water pre-heater circulator, Wolverine oil heaters, RS-high downforce bodywork and single seat conversion.
After leaving Radical Christmas 2011, the car was sold to Lindsay Mercer who intended to develop it to run in the British Sprint Championship. Prior to his purchase, the car was given a full factory rebuild including engine and gearbox. Lindsay developed the suspension and aero for speed event Avon Radials. The car was sold to current owner July 2014 with only approx 1.5hrs of engine use.
Between July 2014 and April 2016, the car was used intermittently for a few light trackdays. A thorough nut and bolt check was carried out along with: full filter and fluids service, further optimisation of suspension geometry and spring rates, Intrax damper test and setup at Cornering Force, fitment of a Tilton clutch valve to smooth clutch engagement, gearbox ratio change and check over at 6R4.com, improvements to car systems to enable faster engine warm up. An MSA logbook was issued Jan 2015.
First competitive MSA sprint was at Aintree in April 2016 and that year the car ended up 2nd overall in Division 2 of the highly competitive Liverpool Motor Club Speed Championship, Class 4B Champions, and 3rd overall in the Top10 Challenge. Notable achievement was FTD at Anglesey in the National B competition of the British Sprint Championship event.
After a successful 2016, the car received the following:
• Full engine rebuild by RLM Racing (a precautionary measure; on examination the engine was perfect and could have run much longer before rebuild)
• All fluids and filters changed
• New clutch and clutch slave cylinder upgrades from Radical
• New front floor/splitter with jabroc pads
• New rear diffuser
• Exhaust silencers repacked
• New pair of lithium batteries
• New seat belts
A second sprint season in 2017 has produced several class wins, several Top3 overall finishes, along with taking the Unlimited Sports Libre Class 4B overall record at Aintree - a very significant achievement beating the long standing record of BSC regular Jim Belt (Juno TR400). After the Aintree event (June 2017) the engine has had only approximately 2.5hrs of use.
The car has clearly been extremely well maintained and is complete with a comprehensive spares package which includes: set of split-rim wheels with brand new Avon A15 radial slicks, AIM SmartyCam video camera and USB charger lead, new airjack lance and safety stands, selection of anti-roll bars and 4 springs, pair of front upper wishbones, ATL fuel churn and stand, Kenlowe water heater, large exhaust silencer and various exhaust pipes and a tailored lined waterproof car cover
