Škoda Fabia S2000 Chassis #75 – Ex-Sébastien Ogier
ADVERT ID: 67131
Description
The Škoda Fabia S2000, chassis #75, ex-Sébastien Ogier, is a rally car with a notable history in the 2012 World Rally Championship (WRC) season, primarily under the Volkswagen Motorsport banner.
In 2012, Ogier joined Volkswagen Motorsport after a stint with Citroën. Since the Polo R WRC was still in development, Volkswagen entered a pair of Škoda Fabia S2000s in the WRC, with Ogier competing in every round (except New Zealand) to stay competitive and gain experience.
Chassis #75: This specific car was used by Volkswagen Motorsport in 2012 as part of their WRC campaign while they developed the Volkswagen Polo R WRC for a full debut in 2013. It was driven by Sébastien Ogier, a future eight-time WRC Drivers’ Champion, and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia.
Highlight – Rally Italia Sardegna 2012: The most significant achievement for chassis #75 (and Ogier in the Fabia S2000) was at Rally Italia Sardegna. Ogier delivered an outstanding performance, finishing fifth overall in a field dominated by more powerful WRC cars. This remains the best-ever overall finish for a Super 2000 car in WRC history. Notably, Ogier won a special stage (Stage 5) by seven seconds, a remarkable feat given the S2000’s naturally aspirated engine compared to turbocharged WRC cars. His success was partly due to strategic tire management, as he observed WRC cars’ tires wearing heavily, allowing him to capitalize with the Fabia’s setup.
Only 16 rallies driven. In original condition.
FIA Gold Pass.
