EX Works MG ZR 190 VHPD Tarmac Rally Car

£15,995.00 GBP

Description

Time has come to pass on my Works built tarmac MG. this car was built by MG Sport and Racing Ltd, MGs Competition department in 2004/2005 for the MG Rover Dealers of Ireland group to be used as Course car on the 2005 Circuit of Ireland driven by Tony Jardine.

When MG Rover collapsed the car was sold at auction by Wyles Hardy & Co to Paul Hughes, a motor dealer from welshpools, Paul had the car MSA Log Booked in June 2006, he did a small number of tarmac rallies during his ownership and I believe he had the car on display in his showroom. The car then went to Graham Roberts, a garage owner from South Molton in Devon who brought the car up to date and had a new Motorsport UK Vehicle Passport issued in June 2021 which is valid until June 2031. It is Category 1 for Stage Rallies and Modified Production for Sprints and Hillclimbs.

Graham did several Tarmac Rallies in it including the Jersey Rally, he also had another MG that he used for forest rallies. I bought the car from Graham in 2023 with the intension of using it for Hillclimbs  but I’ve only done a couple of test days in it and it is now in storage.

So to the car its self. It’s a genuine Ex works MG ZR 1800 VHPD 190, the engine has the rare MS2 head with rally profile solid cams and solid lifters running throttle bodies and big bore Janspeed exhaust system mated to a Quaife ultra close ratio PG1 dog box with a Quaife 90% 5.1 ratio LSD with a quick shift, the suspension is Panski 3 way with external canisters front and rear as the works cars used, the shell is very sound and rust free, it is fully seam welded, it is fitted with a weld in Safety Devices cage that has been braced and triangulated, it has an upright hydraulic handbrake, lightweight alloy tarmac sump and tank guards, fuel and brake lines are inside, full modern stage rally plumbed in fire extinguisher system, and hand held extinguisher and Peltor intercom.

I have the original X Power extinguishers to go with the car, currently the car is fitted with the original X Power seats and harnesses which are out of date for stages, all the original X Power and Irish Rally decals are back on the car, viewing highly recommended.

Photos of the car in action can be found on the internet via, Paul Hughes MG ZR or BU05AZR
