Fabulous 1964 Morris Mini carefully built and accurately presented as a Downton Mini Cooper 1275 S replica.
- The car has had sympathetic restorations over the years, most recently a bare metal respray in 2017 by Paul Preston with subsequent reassembly by Aston Works
- In 2002, the engine was re-bored to 1,293cc and fitted with 1.5″ SU carburettors, the Cooper S wheels refurbished, the original seats re-trimmed in Tartan Red and grey/gold brocade and features such as the aluminium doors, bonnet, door cards and heated windscreen together with a Downton rally dashboard were retained
- The vehicle is running and has been garaged and used sparingly since the most recent restoration works
- Some years ago, 850 MCG was sold for a considerable sum of money as a genuine, twin-tank, ex-Downton 1275 S and, was considered to be so by many, however, some items within the car’s history file cannot be verified, so our vendors have made the expedient decision to offer the car as a ‘Downton Cooper 1275 S replica’
