The Austin A35 was a charming compact car produced from 1956 to 1959, but despite its humble beginnings, A35s have seen racetracks across the globe in various different formats due to their lightweight construction and nimble handling. Nearly 70 years later these A35s not only have a remarkably rich racing history, but they continue to captivate racing enthusiasts in their constant David vs. Goliath battles. In recent years, A35s saw even more attention being paid to them with dedicated racing competitions celebrating their enduring appeal on the track and preserving its legacy for generations to come.

Finished in black and white, this stunning little A35 was bought by our vendor in 2017 specifically for the Silverstone Classic’s Celebrity Race. The Race ended up being an absolute spectacle, drawing hordes of spectators but more importantly raising over £10,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. As the sun set and early evening drizzle turned into relentless rain, the 3.6-mile Silverstone Grand Prix circuit became treacherous, adding to the excitement and making it a unique challenge for the star-studded line up of participants.

Behind the wheel of this iconic Austin A35 was none other than the Olympic Gold Medalist, Jason Kenny. Alongside him, a constellation of gold medal-winning Olympians, legendary athletes, TV stars, radio presenters, best-selling authors, and rock sensations came together to create an electrifying atmosphere. Entries for the Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival have now closed. This is our 13th year as the event’s exclusive auction partner and this year we will be holding a Competition Car Sale followed by a Sale of Automobilia on Friday 25th August and a Collectors’ Car Sale on Saturday 26th August. The auction is part of The Silverstone Festival. One of the best historic motorsport weekends of the year, attracting around 110,000 visitors, where you can also enjoy incredible live music, family fun and a foodie fest.
