Ford Escort Kitcar F2 Engine and Xtrac box.

FOR SALE – F2 GrpA kitcar engine and 079 206 Xtrac gearbox.

Engine was bought from Chris Birkbeck around 11years ago. It was used by Andrea Hall who won the woman’s F2 championship.

Chris mentioned that in around 1998 the engine was removed for a rebuild but it didn’t progress and it sat in boxes.

When I bought it I fully rebuilt the engine using all orignal Ford and Mountune parts, including a brand new slide body. After 1500 stage miles I stripped and fully rebuilt it again last year. Again with all orignal Mountune 909 bearings and Ford bearings etc. It made exactly the same power both times and as per the original Mountune spec sheet I have.

Gearbox has been stripped and checked numerous times I have had it. I bought this from Andrew Hewitson who bought it from Guy Woodcock as a spare and wasn’t really used much.

Always had new Fuchs 75.90 oil after every event. Recently had a new crown wheel, pinion and bearings.

Both engine and gearbox since rebuild have only 3 events, Costa brava spain and eypnt twice.

When I rebuilt the engine I also had the clutch pad relined, new cover plate disc and flywheel skimmed, manifold Ceramic coated and more.

Sold as a complete package only.
