Nissan 370Z RJN #001 GT4 Nismo – Evo

To Be Auctioned

Description

Nissan 370Z RJN #001 GT4 Nismo – Evo – A unique opportunity to secure chassis RJN #001, the first Nissan 370Z GT4, built by RJN with proven European GT4 and GT Academy provenance.

Developed as part of Nissan’s factory-backed motorsport programme, the Nissan 370Z GT4 was conceived to continue the GT Academy initiative, bridging virtual racing with professional international competition. In 2009, RJN Motorsport was commissioned by Nissan to construct the homologated GT4 370Z race cars, intended to be campaigned by the winners and finalists of the Nissan / PlayStation GT Academy programme. These cars formed Nissan’s official GT4 platform during the early years of the programme, prior to the later shift in focus towards GT-R-based competition.

Offered here is chassis RJN #001, the first GT4 370Z built, chassis #001 competed successfully in the European GT4 Cup, initially finished in the distinctive yellow Nissan PlayStation livery, before later appearing in black and red colours during the 2011–2012 seasons. During this period, the car was driven by several GT Academy finalists, including Jann Mardenborough, who raced the 370Z GT4 in his formative professional years prior to progressing into GT-R machinery, a detail often overlooked in later portrayals of the programme on film.

Mechanically, this car is presented in Nismo Evo specification and remains a serious piece of engineering. Power is quoted at approximately 420bhp, with a kerb weight of around 1,250kg, delivering strong performance by any GT4 standard. The drivetrain features a Quaife six-speed pneumatic paddle-shift sequential gearbox, set up by Cosworth, paired with Pectel engine management. Suspension is by Bilstein Motorsport, designed specifically for GT4 competition, while braking is handled by Alcon six-pot front and four-pot rear calipers, operated via an AP Racing pedal box.

The specification is completed with a Recaro competition seat, quick-release steering wheel, 18-inch BBS racing wheels, carbon-fibre rear wing, and on-board triple air jacks. Following Nissan’s withdrawal from GT4 racing, the car was professionally stored before being recommissioned by the current owner, who successfully returned it to competition in 2022 with podium class finishes on its first outing. Other recent updates include a full suspension rebuild by Bilstein and a new competition exhaust by AAS.

As the first GT4 370Z ever built, with direct factory backing, period European GT4 success, documented GT Academy provenance and notable driver history, chassis RJN #001 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine works GT4 car with real motorsport relevance and future historic eligibility.
