Group C Le Mans Homage

Originally imported from Japan, this striking race replica has formed part of our vendor’s Collection for over ten years. Originally finished in Mustard Yellow, the car was more recently refinished in blue and white with its current white, blue, red and gold livery in the style of Rothman’s Porsche from the mid to late eighties.

Features include an enclosed cockpit, faired-in headlamps, deep side air-intakes, a front splitter, wide wheel arches, a full-width rear wing, multi-piece wheels and it looks fabulous with period-style Rothmans Porsche graphics and race number #7 (LM). A plate visible within the cockpit is stamped “962CLM” together with the number “4752910212”. A further plate displaying Fahrgestell-Nr. 9116309770 is also present.

Power is supplied by a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre Porsche flat-six engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The vendor advises that the engine has benefited from cylinder head work, including new valves and porting, and that a new twin stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted. With the rear bodywork removed, visible features include braided lines, coil-over suspension components and the impressive exhaust.

The equally purposeful right-hand drive cockpit is fitted with bucket seats equipped with Sabelt multi-point harnesses, a carbon-effect dashboard, analogue VDO instrumentation, supplementary digital instrumentation, aircraft-style labelled switchgear, an exposed pedal box, chequer-plate flooring and a three-spoke steering wheel. Additional equipment includes race air conditioning, a servo-assisted braking system and  a fire suppression system.

Whether considered for track day use, hill-climb events, demonstration runs or as a striking display piece, this dramatic Le Mans-inspired Group C Endurance Race homage offers immense theatre and visual impact.
