FORD ESCORT WRC – FIA HISTORIC TECHNICAL PASSPORT
KG Motorsport are proud to offer this exceptional Ford Escort WRC, originally constructed by **Mellors Elliot Motorsport** from a genuine **Ford Motorsport Escort WRC bodyshell** for customer competition.
Mellors Elliot Motorsport were one of Ford Motorsport’s leading satellite teams during the Escort WRC era, building and preparing a number of highly successful customer World Rally Cars.
First competing in 1999 and campaigned in period by **Neale Dougan**, the car retains its **original MSA Competition Logbook** and is accompanied by an outstanding collection of original competition and technical documentation.
Most significantly, the car was issued with a full **FIA Historic Technical Passport in 2026**. The HTP represents the car as a **2000 Ford Escort WRC Evolution** and remains valid until **10 January 2036**.
This current FIA HTP is a major asset, providing the car with long-term eligibility for prestigious FIA Historic competition and events across Europe, subject to individual event regulations.

# PERIOD COMPETITION HISTORY
The Escort first appeared in competition during the 1999 season with **Neale Dougan** at the Lurgan Park Rally.
The car subsequently enjoyed a successful period competition career, including overall podium finishes and recorded stage victories.
Following its retirement from active competition in Ireland in 2005, the Escort remained a cherished collector’s car, making only a single guest appearance at **Rallylegend**, where it was demonstrated by former Ford works driver and 1993 Rallye Sanremo winner **Gianfranco Cunico**.
The car later underwent an extensive restoration and rebuild by **D-Max in Italy**, completed in anticipation of its future eligibility for FIA Historic competition. Detailed photographic and video records of this work are available to serious prospective purchasers and demonstrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the car.
Further specialist mechanical work was entrusted to **Oppliger Motorsport**, recognised as leading Ford Cosworth experts. Oppliger rebuilt the car’s engines and also carried out the transmission rebuilds.
