An exceptional genuine Escort Mk2 RS2000 Custom Rally car   built from a rust-free, Ziebart-protected RS road car in West Wales .The car is fully prepared, new MSA  passport and historic tax exempt, incorporating a wealth of genuine period RS components .owned by the current owner for 14 years ready to rally tomorrow

The shell has been comprehensively strengthened and features proper round rear turrets, gussets link boxes etc  .Six-link rear suspension, Watts linkage, bias pedal box with new master cylinders, hydraulic handbrake, SD roll cage, braided oil and fuel lines, alloy sump guard and numerous additional competition upgrades.

The interior retains many desirable original RS features, including the immaculate headlining, opening front quarter windows, RS door cards, carpets, rs bumpers, works-style dashboard, Racetech gauges and the super rare Rubberoid rear boot spoiler. It is fitted with OMP competition seats (2.5 years remaining FIA validity), 6-point harnesses (5 years remaining), and both fire suppression systems remain in date for a further 1.5 years.

Power comes from a Mitchell-built Historic Specification 2.0 BDG, built new in 2022. producing approximately 260bhp on 48 DCOE Webers, featuring REC valves, Blue Sky components, AP twin-plate paddle clutch, Tony Law 2.5-inch large bore exhaust manifold and system, Powerlite hi torque starter motor and high-output alternator all parts were fitted new at time of engine installation  The engine has conly overed just 45 stage miles since new

Transmission is via a Martyn Jones-built Type 9 Quaife Pro Heavy duty five-speed gearbox, supplied through MST, with a 2.39:1 first gear ratio. Like the engine, it has completed only 45 stage miles from new

The rear axle is a genuine Baby Atlas semi-floating axle with heavy-duty tubes, double-pinned ZF limited-slip differential, Ford 4.6 crown wheel and pinion, Quaife two-piece shafts, Watts linkage, Ford rear calipers, DS2500 pads, differential skid plate and Group 4 wheel studs. The axle was fully overhauled when the new engine was installed.
