Proper RHD Group A Escort Cosworth Rally Car Project

History

This rally car project is based on the original EAR 5, driven by Mike Pattison to several rally wins. It offers a unique opportunity to own a proper RHD Group A rally car.

Project Overview

The car is a project to rebuild, with most of the work completed to a very high standard. It primarily requires reassembly, as all parts are available and were delivered complete. The car has been completely stripped back to a bare metal shell.

Body and Paint

The shell was refurbished by Steve Lancaster and includes the latest seat rails. It was painted by Normandales at Daventry in the iconic Diamond White, and remains unmarked and in immaculate condition.

Engine

The engine has 0 miles and was built by Tommy Fields. It includes a brand new alloy block and comes complete with a new engine harness and ECU. The engine is fully run in and dyno tested by Tommy.

Transmission

The transmission features an FFD 6 Speed, X-Trac Front, and 9″ rear. All components have 0 miles following a full Bara rebuild.

Fuel System

A new alloy Pro alloy tank has been fitted, as the original bag tank is out of date but is available with the car.

Components

All other Group A components are available as they came with the car. They will need cleaning and checking.

Additional Requirements

The project will require new seats, belts, battery, and extinguishers as the current ones are out of date. A new HRVIF / FIA HTP will be required if needed. Latest seat rails are fitted to accommodate these updates.

Completion Potential

This is a complete car in pieces that, once finished, can become a stunning Group A car. While it will take more than a couple of weekends to complete, the end results can be both stunning and valuable.
