Ford Escort RS Cosworth Motorsport

The Escort RS Cosworth was created for Group A rallying, which required the creation of over 2500 production examples to qualify for competition. These highly tuned Escorts were based on the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth’s underpinnings, and featured the venerable Cosworth YB turbocharged 2.0L inline four engine. The Escort Cosworth was built in two main versions, with the first 2500 examples being used to satisfy homologation requirements. These first cars featured a larger turbo and intercooler, as well as a non-functioning water injection system, and were more reminiscent of the Group A rally cars.

This Vehicle is one of the first off the production line in 1992, and the sought after Motorsport edition.

It was imported to Finland around 24 years ago, then parked up in storage and not used since 2005/2006. It was recently brought back to live, below is a list of works carried out.

 

Engine:

– New bearings

– New sills and gaskets

– Crankshaft checked

– Cylinder head checked and serviced

– Turbo maintenance

– Nozzle maintenance

– New fuel pump

– New water pump and distributor

Brakes:

– New disc and pads all around

– Brake booster maintenance

– New brake callipers at the rear

– Maintenance of front brake callipers

 

Body:

– Exterior fully painted in its original colour

– Alloy rims cleaned, and powder coated in their original colour

– New tyres all around

 

Interior:

– Fully professionally cleaned

 

The recorded milage is just over 91 000 km. Unfortunately, this can not be guaranteed as there are no service records, judging by the time it has spent in storage and the condition of the interior, it would be hard to believe that it has been driven 191 000 km.

Road inspection (MOT/TUV) was recently carried out with out any advisories.
